The spiritual landscape of Ipele witnessed a historic transformation on July 15, 2020, as the Lord Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, The Rt Rev'd Dr Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi, dedicated two new houses of worship — a chapel within Owo Diocesan Anglican Grammar School, Ipele, and a newly constructed church in the town.
The chapel, donated by Ambassador and Mrs Olaseni Ibitoye, is set to serve as a sacred space for students, staff, and faculty to worship and deepen their spiritual lives. The new church, gifted by Senator Titus Olupitan, a native of Ipele, offers a permanent place of communal worship for the town's Anglican faithful.
Bishop Fagbemi, who led the dedication ceremony, commended the donors for their generosity and commitment to the spiritual growth of the community. He described the day as a moment of divine joy and a milestone in the history of the Diocese.
Members of the Owo Anglican community, residents of Ipele, and dignitaries gathered in large numbers to witness the ceremony, offering prayers and songs of thanksgiving.
The two buildings, now standing as symbols of faith and service, are expected to foster unity, hope, and spiritual renewal for generations to come.
With these dedications, the Diocese of Owo continues to expand its mission of evangelism and community development, anchored in love, sacrifice, and God’s enduring presence.
