Speaking with reporters at his Owo residence, the 82-year-old union leader described the news of his death as false, wicked, and a creation of idle minds.
“I am alive, strong, and healthy,” Obayoriade said with a smile. “I’m always in my house here in Owo. Those spreading the rumour of my death are only reminding my Creator to add more years to my life.”

“I’m an old man now,” he added humorously. “I don’t go out drinking or engaging in the lifestyle I lived in the past. Maybe that’s why some people think I’ve passed on.”
Otunba Obayoriade, affectionately called Die the Matter by his admirers, expressed gratitude to well-wishers who have called or visited to confirm his wellbeing.
He prayed that those who wished him dead would live long enough to witness his continued sound health and peace of min
